Project Description
PROJECT SUMMARY
This two-and-a-half-year house-flip project was a private investment I undertook in 2014, balancing the work alongside my other professional commitments. The project involved market analysis, property identification, financing, construction development, marketing, and sale.
The strategy was to purchase a dilapidated property in an emerging neighborhood, selected for its potential to increase in market value with cosmetic improvements. Key renovations included remodeling the kitchen and bathroom, adding a backyard office and storage unit, and upgrading landscaping, painting, and trim throughout the property.
Despite working late evenings and weekends, juggling other professional responsibilities, the investment proved lucrative. However, it required significant personal sacrifices to achieve a successful outcome.
Project Financial Summary
Purchase price - $280M
Improvements - $55M
Sale Price - $575M
IN THE MEDIA
The home was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle which highlighted the top three homes in oakland for under $1MM for sale at the time.
