Project Description
PROJECT SUMMARY
Epicenter was a philanthropic leadership school founded in San Francisco with a mission to empower young adults through personal development, spiritual growth, and social impact. The program combined classroom learning with direct community engagement, with a strong emphasis on serving vulnerable populations—including the homeless, underserved youth, and individuals transitioning out of incarceration or addiction.
As the founding director, I played a central role in bringing the school to life. I collaborated with a board of advisors to shape the school’s vision, design the curriculum, and establish key partnerships with local nonprofits and community organizations. My responsibilities included curriculum development, staff coordination, student recruitment, fundraising, and day-to-day leadership of the program.
The first cohort consisted of a diverse group of students committed to personal transformation and social impact. Under my leadership, students launched several impactful service initiatives, including food distribution programs, job readiness workshops, and outreach efforts in San Francisco’s Tenderloin and Mission Districts.
Epicenter was more than just a school—it was a movement to empower the next generation of social leaders. After guiding the program through its first successful nine-month cycle, I transitioned out of the role, and the school continued to operate for an additional three years.
FIRM DESCRIPTION
Epicenter is a ministry and leadership school based in the heart of San Francisco, dedicated to training students to become transformational leaders in the realms of philanthropy and spiritual development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
As the Founding Director of Epicenter School, I was responsible for developing the initial vision and assembling a committed board of advisors to guide the organization. I created and administered the full course curriculum, integrating leadership development, spiritual formation, and philanthropic action. I also led a team of five educators and administrators, overseeing program delivery and day-to-day operations to ensure a transformative experience for students and measurable impact in the community.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE
As Founding Director of Epicenter School, I launched and led the first year of a philanthropic and spiritual leadership training program in San Francisco. I developed the school’s vision, built a governing board, created and delivered a comprehensive curriculum, and recruited a staff of five educators and administrators. The inaugural class included 35 paying students who engaged in direct service projects across the city—feeding hundreds of unhoused individuals and supporting other at-risk populations. Under my leadership, Epicenter became a catalyst for community engagement and social impact, continuing to operate for three additional years after my tenure.
