TITLE

Grassroots Campaign Manager

TIME PERIOD

December 2010 - November 2011

LOCATION

San Francisco, California

Project Description

PROJECT SUMMARY

After my time at Epicenter School, I realized that leading in a religious organization wasn’t the path I wanted to take. With a strong desire to make a positive impact, I volunteered with Tony’s Campaign.

Through a connection with my father, who had known Tony for years, I started as a grassroots coordinator. Over the course of the year, I was promoted to manage the campaign division, where I coordinated hundreds of volunteers across a variety of campaign activities:

  • Organizing Campaign Rallies

  • Managing Press Events

  • Coordinating Neighborhood Walks

  • Distributing Street Signs

  • Overseeing Phone Banking

FIRM DESCRIPTION

Tony Hall ran for Mayor of San Francisco in the fall of 2011 as a conservative candidate. His primary opponent was Ed Lee, who ultimately won the election. During the campaign, I played a key role in coordinating grassroots efforts, organizing events, and leading volunteer initiatives to support Tony’s platform and engage the San Francisco community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Led grassroots efforts for the campaign, driving community engagement and support

  • Managed online databases, coordinating direct mailers and digital outreach strategies

  • Recruited and organized hundreds of volunteers for various campaign activities, ensuring effective participation and coordination
