PROJECT SUMMARY

This was my first opportunity to work with Bob Kendrick, a former investment banker based in San Francisco, who had been a longtime member of my father’s church. Bob was constantly managing a variety of projects, and in addition to his commercial endeavors, he was also developing a bed and breakfast on Vashon Island, which would serve as both a vacation retreat and his family’s compound.

I spent two consecutive summers living onsite, overseeing the construction of three main structures on the property, along with various outlying amenities. For most of the time, I worked alone, with the Kendrick family visiting during their vacations.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE

Main House: Renovation of kitchen, two new bathrooms, and cosmetic upgrades.

Outlying Cabin: Complete renovation, including kitchen, bathroom, and cosmetic updates.

Third Home (Adjacent Property): Full remodel with two new bathrooms, kitchen, and cosmetic enhancements.

Grounds Upgrades: Installation of a new pond, trail systems, fire pits, soft/hardscaping, and decking.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Managed property development for an offshore Bed and Breakfast in Washington.

Designed and executed property improvements, including structural and aesthetic enhancements.

Bob Kendrick

Bob played a pivotal role in shaping my personal and professional development during my young adulthood. With his vast knowledge and experience, he guided me from viewing myself as a tradesman to embracing the mindset of a successful entrepreneur.

He dedicated significant personal time to mentor me, engaging in daily conversations where he helped me navigate challenges, reflect on past experiences, and establish a foundation for success.

It was during this time that Bob introduced me to success literature, which ignited in me a fierce desire for self-mastery and competence. I spent my mornings and evenings reciting declarations, writing mission statements, and meditating on the life I aspired to live. The lessons and guidance I received during these summers have had a profound impact on my life, and I am deeply grateful for this transformative period.
